The column that appeared in last week’s newspaper about the opioid lawsuit questioned whether Representative Noah Sanford had a conflict of interest.

 Sanford suggested we contact the Ethics Commission and we did.  They said as long as he did not receive proceeds that had been mandated by the legislature there is not a conflict of interest. 

We disagree with this opinion; however, the commission said there is not a conflict.  Medications will cost consumers more if this case is successful.
