Senate Bill will help cities with cleanup of rundown property

Senate Bill 2607 would offer cities relief by expediting the rapid cleanup of rundown properties. It would allow cities to clean small parcels of rundown property less than one acre in size for which the city spends $250 or less. It would allow up to four cleanings a year for cities with populations of 25,000 or more.

Patsy Lou Ridings Robertson, age 81, passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2018. Visitation was  held Wednesday, February 7, 2018, at Breeland Funeral Home in Canton, MS from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m.  Funeral Services were held February 8 at 10:00 a.m.

 A memorial service for Ms. Rose Killens was be held at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at Milling Funeral Home Chapel of Sebastopol. Bro. George Ellis officiated.

The family received friends from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at Milling Funeral Home Chapel of Sebastopol.

I suppose it’s all up to the ole groundhog at this point. Winter, that is. Of course we’ve still got a little over a week before Groundhog Day and “officially” knowing what to expect for the next six weeks, but after the last half-a-month or so I’m hoping more than ever before that Punxsutawney Phil doesn’t see his shadow this year.

The Scott County Sheriff’s Department began accepting donations Monday in their second annualy Sheriff’s Toy Drive. There is a drop off box at the Scott County Sheriff’s Department in the lobby which is open to the public 24 hours a day. There will be a small drop box at Petals & More in Forest.
